Shipping Policy

Sporting Tragic ships from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to addresses within Australia, selected countries and territories in Oceania, and the United Kingdom.

Order processing

Orders for in-stock products are usually packed and dispatched within 2–4 business days after payment is confirmed. Business days exclude weekends and Victorian public holidays.

During product launches, sales, Christmas, major sporting events or other busy periods, processing may take longer. If an item is a pre-order or made to order, the expected dispatch timeframe will be shown on the product page.

You will receive a confirmation email after placing your order and, where tracking is available, a shipping confirmation email after dispatch. Please check your delivery address carefully. Contact us as soon as possible at hello@sportingtragic.com.au if it is incorrect. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered fulfilment.

Shipping costs

Available shipping methods and charges are shown at checkout and depend on the destination, parcel size, weight and service selected. Any free-shipping offer applies only under the conditions stated with that offer.

Estimated delivery times after dispatch

The following timeframes are estimates only:

Destination - Estimated delivery time

Melbourne and major Australian metro areas: 2–7 business days
Regional and remote Australia: 5–10 business days |
New Zealand | 6–12 business days
Other serviced Oceania destinations: 8–20 business days
United Kingdom: 7–15 business days

Delivery may take longer because of customs processing, carrier delays, severe weather, peak periods, remote locations or events outside our reasonable control. Unless required by law, estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed.

Tracking and delivery

Where tracking is provided, customers are responsible for monitoring the shipment and following any carrier instructions. A parcel may be left in a safe place or taken to a collection point according to the carrier’s procedures and the delivery option selected.

If tracking shows that a parcel has been delivered but you cannot locate it, first check around the property, with household members or neighbours, and with the carrier. If it remains missing, contact us promptly at hello@sportingtragic.com.au and we will assist with the carrier’s investigation.

International customs, taxes and duties

International orders may be subject to import VAT/GST, customs duties, handling fees or other government charges in the destination country. Unless these amounts are expressly collected at checkout, they are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in our product or shipping prices.

Customs authorities may require personal or order information to clear a shipment. Sporting Tragic cannot control customs delays or charges. If a customer refuses a delivery because of unpaid import charges, any refund will be handled consistently with applicable law and may be reduced by unrecoverable return-carriage or carrier charges where legally permitted.

Incorrect, damaged or missing items

Please inspect your order promptly. If it arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or different from what you ordered, email hello@sportingtragic.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs where relevant. We will assess the matter and provide a remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Returned-to-sender parcels

If a parcel is returned because the address supplied was incorrect or incomplete, delivery was refused, or it was not collected in time, we will contact you. Where permitted by law, additional postage may be required before the order is resent. This does not limit any rights you have where Sporting Tragic or the carrier caused the delivery problem.

Returns, Exchanges and Refunds Policy

We want you to be happy with your Sporting Tragic purchase. This policy is in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or modify, any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer laws.

Change-of-mind returns

Unless an exclusion below applies, you may request a change-of-mind return within 30 days after delivery.

To be eligible, the item must be unused, unworn, unwashed and in its original condition, with its original tags and packaging where applicable. You must provide proof of purchase.

To start a return, email hello@sportingtragic.com.au with your order number and the item you wish to return. Do not send a product back until we provide return instructions.

For an approved change-of-mind return:

- the customer is responsible for return postage and the risk of the item during return transit;
- original delivery charges are not refunded, except where required by law, including applicable UK cancellation rights; and
- any refund is issued to the original payment method after the returned item is received and inspected.

We recommend using a tracked return service. Sporting Tragic is not responsible for a change-of-mind return that is lost before it reaches us.

Items not eligible for change-of-mind return

We do not accept change-of-mind returns for:

- personalised, customised or made-to-order products;
- gift cards;
- items marked as final sale, where permitted by law;
- items that have been worn, washed, used, altered or damaged after delivery; or
- items returned without proof of purchase or outside the return period.

These exclusions do not apply where an item is faulty, unsafe, incorrectly described or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.

Size exchanges

Size exchanges are subject to stock availability. Contact us within 30 days after delivery. If the exchange is approved, you are responsible for the cost of returning the original item and for any stated reshipping charge, except where the item supplied was faulty or was not the size ordered.

To avoid missing out on limited stock, you may choose to place a new order and return the original item for a refund under the change-of-mind terms above.

Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed products

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product has a major failure, you may be entitled to reject it and choose a refund or replacement, and may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the problem is not major, we may choose to provide a repair, replacement or refund within a reasonable time, as permitted by law.

Comparable mandatory rights may apply to customers in other countries, including the United Kingdom.

Email hello@sportingtragic.com.au with your order number, details of the problem and photographs where useful. If the claim is valid, Sporting Tragic will cover reasonable return costs or provide another suitable return method where required by law.

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, failure to follow care instructions, or a fault disclosed before purchase will not usually qualify as a product failure, subject to applicable law.

Additional rights for United Kingdom customers

If you are a UK consumer purchasing online, you generally have the right to cancel an eligible order without giving a reason from the time the contract is made until 14 days after the day you receive the goods. You then generally have a further 14 days to return the goods.

To cancel, send a clear statement to hello@sportingtragic.com.au before the cancellation period expires, identifying your order. You may use the following wording: “I give notice that I cancel my contract for order [ORDER NUMBER], ordered on [DATE] and received on [DATE].”

Unless we offer to collect the goods or the goods are faulty, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning them. You may handle an item only as much as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. Where legally permitted, we may reduce the refund to reflect loss in value caused by handling beyond that level.

For a valid UK cancellation, we will refund the product price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Any additional amount paid for express or premium delivery need not be refunded. We will make the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence that you sent them back, whichever occurs first. The refund will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

The statutory cancellation right does not apply to certain products, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Your rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.

Refund timing

Once a return has been received and assessed, we will notify you of the outcome. Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process and display the refund.

Return address

Approved returns must be sent to:

Sporting Tragic Returns
PO Box 2029, Surrey Hills VIC 3127, Australia

Returns sent without prior approval may be delayed or returned to the sender, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you browse our store, create an account, place an order, contact us, submit a review or subscribe to marketing. We may also receive information from Shopify, payment processors, delivery carriers, fraud-prevention services, analytics and advertising providers, social-media platforms and other service providers involved in operating our store.

Some information is collected automatically through cookies, pixels and similar technologies. See Cookies and online advertising below.

Lawful bases for UK customers

Where UK privacy law applies, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:

- contract-to process and deliver your order, manage payment, returns and customer service;
- legal obligation-to meet tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other legal requirements;
- legitimate interests-to operate and improve our business, secure our services, prevent fraud, understand store performance and communicate with customers, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- consent-for activities requiring consent, such as certain marketing or non-essential cookies; and
- legal claims-where processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend claims.

You may withdraw consent at any time, although this does not affect processing already undertaken lawfully.

When we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information to service providers that help us operate, including:

- Shopify, which hosts and supports our online store;

We may also disclose information in connection with a genuine sale, merger, restructure or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws use broader definitions of “sale” or “sharing” that may include certain advertising technologies. Where those laws apply, we will provide any required choices or opt-outs.

Shopify and third-party services

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes personal information to provide its platform, checkout and related services. Shopify and other providers have their own privacy notices explaining their practices. Links to third-party websites, apps or services are governed by those parties’ policies, not this policy.

Overseas disclosure and international transfers

We are based in Australia and sell internationally. Personal information may be processed in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand and other countries where Shopify or our service providers operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from those in your country.

Where required, we use contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers of UK personal data. Contact us if you would like further information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

Cookies and online advertising

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate checkout and account features, remember preferences, secure the store, analyse traffic and—where permitted-personalise advertising.

Where required by law, we ask for consent before using non-essential cookies. You can manage available choices through our cookie banner or settings tool and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect store functions. You can also unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in each message.

Direct marketing

We may send promotional communications where you have consented or where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting hello@sportingtragic.com.au. We may still send non-promotional messages needed to administer an order, account, return or legal notice.

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfil orders, provide support, meet tax and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and our legal obligations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer required, unless the law permits or requires further retention.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. - request deletion of information in certain circumstances;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent;

- complain to a privacy regulator.

These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. To exercise a right, email hello@sportingtragic.com.au.

Australian customers may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if they are dissatisfied with our response. UK customers may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the concern.

Children’s privacy

Our store is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 16 without appropriate authorisation. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact hello@sportingtragic.com.au.
